2. Reseat external paper handling device.
3. Check and reseat all cables between printer and the specified device.

HP LASER PRINTER 4500 
1. Check all cables on the external paper handling output Device. 

HP LASER PRINTER 8500
1. Communication error between sheet input unit or the Multi-bin mailbox and the printer.
2. Check all cables. 
3. Replace paper deck drive assembly.
4. Temporary error.
5. Check lifting plates. 
6. Indicates a 2000- sheet input unit feed motor error.
7. Replace pick up assembly.
8. Replace controller board.

HP LASER PRINTER 9000 
1. Temporary error. 
2. Reseat input device.
3. Check cables. 
4. Replace the output device controller p.c.a. 
5. Replace the accumulator assembly.

Error 67

  • 2686A/D, II, IID, IIP,III,IIID,IIIP,4,4+,4P
       Defective formatter board, try reseating the connectors and any accessories
       you may have plugged in
  • On the 4Si this could be a temporary error which can be corrected by cycling the power
  • 4V/4MV - This can also be a temporary error or a defective paper guide plate assembly. A switch on this assembly may not be activated properly. You can remedy this by replacing the paper guide plate assembly, RG5-248-030. Caution needs to be used when installing the new assembly - be careful of the sensor flag spring!
  • 5Si - Can be caused by field replaceable units (FRU's) not installed correctly. Check and reinstall
    •

Error 68

ALL HP LASER PRINTERS (EXCEPT 4, 4+, 5, 5SI)
1. Temporary error.
2. Defective formatter pca.

HP LASER PRINTER 4, 4+, 4P, 5, 5P
1. Check control panel settings.
2. Possible bad formatter.
3. Cycle printer power.

HP LASER PRINTER 5P
1. Perform nvram initialization.

HP LASER PRINTER 5SI
1. Incompatible tray 3.

HP LASER PRINTERS 1200, 2200, 3100, 3200, 4100
1. Perform nvram initialization.
2. Temporary error.

1. NVRAM error.

2. Replace hard disk.
3. Reinitialize hard disk.
4. Reseat hard disk.
